1.Q: What is CrediMax Online Authentication Service (MaxSecure)?
This is a service offered by CrediMax to CrediMax Cardholders through MasterCard & Visa internationally known as "MasterCard SecureCode" and "Verified by Visa". This service adds protection against unauthorized use of your card when you shop at participating online merchants.
2.Q: How does it work?
Once you've registered and created your own private "Password", you will be automatically prompted by CrediMax at checkout to provide your "Password" each time you make a purchase with a participating online merchant. Your Password is quickly confirmed by CrediMax and then your purchase is authorized and completed. Your "Password" will never be shared with the merchant. It works the same way entering your PIN at an ATM. For security reasons, using ATM, Phone Banking, Personal Internet Banking Pins, Birthdays or User ID passwords should be avoided.
3.Q: How does my Password protect me?
you correctly enter your "Password" during a purchase at a participating online merchant, you confirm that you are the authorized cardholder and your purchase is then authorized and completed. If an incorrect "Password" is entered, the purchase will not be authorized and completed, even if someone knows your credit card number, the purchase cannot be completed without your "Password" at a participating merchant.
4.Q: How many cards can I register with (MaxSecure)?
We encourage you to register all of your CrediMax cards. There is no limit on how many cards you can register.
5.Q: Can I use my "Password" from any computer?
Because there's no special software to install on any standard computer to enroll to the service, you can use and shop from any computer meeting the basic standards of a common computer used by online shoppers.
6.Q: What happens when my card expires or my billing information changes?
CrediMax will automatically update this information in your profile.
7.Q: What happens if I cancel my existing card then get a new one with a different number?
You will need to register the new card for the (MaxSecure) service. Simply return to the registration site, and complete the registration process with your new card.
8.Q: How do I know whether a merchant participates in (MaxSecure)?
Most participating merchants will display the MasterCardÂ® SecureCode and Verified by Visa Password logo on their site. However, even if you don't see the logos, the merchant may still be a participant and you will be prompted to provide your "Password".
9.Q: How will the online merchant know that I'm registered for (MaxSecure) through MasterCardÂ® SecureCode and Verified by Visa Password?
When you use a card that is enrolled in the MasterCardÂ® SecureCode and Verified by Visa Password program at participating online merchants, the merchant automatically recognizes your CrediMax card number during the payment.
10.Q: What happens when I use my "Password" at a participating merchant?
When you make a purchase at a participating merchant and enter your registered CrediMax payment details, you will automatically be prompted by CrediMax to enter your "Password". After reviewing the details of your purchase and confirming that your Personal Greeting is correct, simply type in your "Password" to complete your purchase.
11.Q: What is a Personal Greeting?
The Personal Greeting is a message that you create during "enrollment". Each time you make an online purchase at a participating merchant, you will be prompted to enter your "Password". At this time, you'll see your Personal Greeting and other purchase details. The Personal Greeting is your assurance that you are communicating with your financial institution being CrediMax in this case. If the Personal Greeting displayed on the screen is incorrect, you should not enter your Password, instead contact CrediMax Customer Service on 00973 17 117117 to report a possible fraudulent attempt.
12.Q: When shopping - I do not remember my "Password" what should I do?
If you don't remember your "Password" when making an online purchase, you will be prompted to answer the four questions to validate and allow the service to authenticate your identity as the genuine cardholder. If you then supply the correct answers, your purchase will be completed. Once your purchase is completed, you should visit the registration site, click on the "Forgot SecureCode" link and follow the subsequent enrollment instructions.
13.Q: What if I forget my password?
Access CrediMax Website www.credimax.com.bh, click on "How to enroll and gain access to the service" then click on registration link http://www.securecode.com/credimax and click again on the "Forgot SecureCode/Password" and view the Secure Online Payment Customer Profile Maintenance section to reset your password.
14.Q: Can I change my "Password"?
You can change your password, at any time by going to Account management in the registration link after verifying your identity. Passwords should contain 6 - 12 characters numeric letters and/or numbers (with no spaces or symbols in between), and must be different from your User ID and your old password. Please note that passwords are case sensitive.
15.Q: How will (MaxSecure) change the online purchase process?
The online purchase process will not change except that now you will be prompted to provide your "Password" during checkout. Your "Password" will never be revealed to the merchant during the checkout process.
16.Q: Will I be able to make purchases at merchants that accept CrediMax cards but do not participate in CrediMax Online Shopping Service (MaxSecure)?
Yes, you will not be asked for your "Password" during these purchases and therefore, can face risks of fraudulent use of your card information.
